Riddle of Joseph’s Hat Finally Solved
I am continually amazed at how the Internet can bring answers to questions from all over. I was recently contacted by Peter May, founder of The Pinotage Club regarding my previous post on 2005, Kamsberg Bushwine, Pinotage back last year. In that post, I just mentioned my interest in tracking down where I could get some Joseph’s Hat Pinotage wine. Peter provided this response:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. Joseph’s Hat was a label of Ashanti Wines. The estate was sold a few years ago to new owners. They discontinued the Joseph?s Hat range and now it seems they’ve developed the estate into housing and are currently not making wine. http://ashantiwines.com But there are plenty of good Pinotages about. Well, Peter, thanks so much for taking the time to contact me and provide this answer to my open query on why I can no longer find Joseph’s Hat Pinotage anymore.
